NAACP Logo Unveiling 11 a.m.

The High Desert branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is proud to announce the mounting and unveiling of the NAACP branch logo.

The unveiling will take place in Victorville, at the corner of Seventh and Green Tree Boulevard - the NAACP's logo will take its rightful place with the other outstanding community service organizations. This momentous event is open to the public - all are welcome.

"Old Testament" Bible Seminar September 8
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Walk Thru the Old Testament," interactive seminar, will help you absorb and remember the key characters, geography and major themes of the entire Old Testament. Children can also follow along with "Kids in the Book". Bring the entire family to First Baptist Church, 9280 Maple Avenue, Hesperia.

Adults - $20.00, youth (7th - 12th grade) - $10.00, children (1st - 6th grade) are free. Family cap is $60.00. A pizza lunch is included with the price.

Fourth Annual Relay for Life Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16

Come out and be a part of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Join a team or form your own team. Stay for the entire 24 hours of fun or as long as you can last.

The Cancer Survivors Walk with Courage lap opens the event. There will be a Camp Out for a Cure in the "Tent City" - be sure to bring your sleeping bag and a tent. The Evening Luminaria Ceremony - placed around the track, they light the way for walkers and runners.
