A wide cross-section of local residents, businesses and organizations have volunteered numerous hours for many months to make the upcoming Victor Valley Air Show a success, according to organizers, who addressed Zank's Coffee Club attendees last Friday morning.

"This Air Show is a year in the making," said Randy Banks, president of the Victor Valley Airshow Association. "This airshow cannot happen without a lot of people helping us."

And Hesperians and members of the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce are at the center. Most notable are Don Webb, the park district's recreation supervisor who serves at event coordinator; Dennis De Hay, volunteer coordinator; Randy Banks, president of the Victor Valley Airshow Association; Michael Lowe, vice president; Kelly Orlando, secretary - certified flight instructor; Ensen Mason, treasurer and CFO; and Jay Chavers, major sponsor relationships.

Hesperia Airport Operator Garry Abbott is in charge of airshow safety.

"We love to offer this to the community," Abbott said about the airshow, which is regarded as one of the biggest single events in the Victor Valley.

An estimated 5,000 to 10,000 are expected to attend.

The airshow is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Hesperia Airport. Free off-site parking and round-trip airshow shuttle service will be at the Elks Lodge, Ranchero Middle School and Sultana High School.

Admission is free.
