An 86-year-old Hesperia man was struck and killed by a motorist Sunday.

Ramon Reyes Ramos reportedly had gotten out of a car parked on Maple Avenue between Farmington Street and Cromdale Street and walked out into the street. A 17-year-old motorist driving northbound on Maple then apparently struck him.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:38 p.m. on an unlit stretch of street. Ramos was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies are investigating, however, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision at this time, according to a department statement.
