The Subway sandwich shop near Main Street and Maple Avenue was robbed Monday morning.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a robbery report Monday at 10 a.m.

Witnesses told deputies a man walked into the store and placed a note on the counter. After reading the note, the clerk opened the store's cash register and placed the money on the counter.

The suspect then allegedly waved a handgun at employees during the robbery and then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No vehicle was spotted leaving the area.

The suspect is described as a thin black male, approximately 6 feet high, with a goatee. During the robbery, he was reportedly wearing a gray sweater and dark colored pants.
