Good evening School Board and District Cabinet.

My name is Maggie Avalos and my name is Riyahna Weathersby and CANYON RIDGE says hello and thank you for including us tonight. Here's Maggie with some news from the Ravens.

We had our grand opening on October 29th and so far our school population of over 100 has earned 813 credits.

Since our opening we have held two assemblies to celebrate our student's success.

After testing in November, 52 percent of our students have now passed the high school exit exam. We were very excited about the progress and number of students passing.

We also had a great report from our first walk-thru by Director Arlen Gluck and our principal, Bill Pittsford.

5 of our students and Ms Rittman our History teacher will be taking Canyon Ridge's first field trip on January 31. They will be participating in the 2nd annual youth in government day as Hesperia's City Hall.

Some of students are being referred to the employment center and have participated in the orientation to get jobs.

One of our students, Riyahna Weathersby, standing next to me won the top honors in the High Desert, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. writing contest. Of course we were very proud of her.

And here's Riyahna with some more Raven News.

After testing in November many of our students have now passed the high school exit exam.

We have our first school site council meeting on December 18th with 9 staff members, 2 community members, 5 students and 6 parents. They worked on our mission and vision statement and started the school wide goals.

Our students have been working on their art projects in Mrs. J's class and we have many displayed in our office.

Students in Mr. Cross's class have started working on projects for the Science fair.

Well, that's a short list of what's happening at Canyon Ridge "Where Life Changing Attitudes are made.

Thank you and good evening ...
