Two Hesperia men were arrested for possession of stolen property early Wednesday morning.

Christopher Seemer, 22, and Christian Gaylord, also 22, were stopped by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputy Zane Jansky for vehicle code violations on Main Street a little after 2 a.m. During the traffic stop, Jansky noted the back of the car contained several hundred feet of cable, but according to department spokeswoman Roxanne Walker, "there was nothing to suggest the cable was stolen" at the time.

Later that same morning, while talking with several other deputies, Deputy Jeremy Vasquez mentioned a theft report of nearly 600 feet of cable from the 8700 block of 7th Avenue. After realizing the possibility of a connection between the cases, an investigation was initiated.

Upon entering Seemer's home, Jansky and Deputy Shawn Michels allegedly found Seemer hiding inside his dryer. With a search warrant for the property obtained, deputies located the stolen cable in the house.

Seemer and Gaylord were booked at West Valley Detention Center shortly after.
