Hesperia-based High Desert Primary Care has announced a partnership with CareMore, an innovative senior health care provider specializing in personalized health planning.

And so far the response has been overwhelming. With HDPC's help, CareMore has enrolled nearly 600 local seniors.

"We're really thrilled," said Niki Balginy, HDPC CEO.

Balginy and others involved in the partnership were on hand for the CareMore Care Center grand opening on Saturday, Feb. 2.

"I hope you feel our passion," Leeba Lessin, president of the Cerritos-based CareMore, told the hundred or so guests in attendance. "I hope you feel how we to tend to your specific needs."

The CareMore model stresses pro-active, integrated health care. Specialized programs include:

o Healthy Start for Seniors, which provides a comprehensive medical evaluation by a geratrician;
o First Fall Program, a comprehensive assessment for people with a history of falls;
o Diabetic Education and Management, which provides basic information for controlling blood sugar;
o High Blood Pressure Monitor, which features a wireless monitor that plugs directly into a home telephone jack;
o Foot Care, which provides regular foot examinations.

The CareMore Care Center in Hesperia was designed specifically for seniors. It includes state-of-the-art examination talbes, low-glare materials on counter tops, floors and other surfaces, static resistant carpet, lightweight inside doors and other amenities.

CareMore Care Center, which is located at 17083 Main Street, is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 981-1284.
