County officials are warning residents to brace for possible cold weather and rain this weekend.

The National Weather Service and other forecasting agencies are predicting more cold weather and rain for the High Desert on Friday and a second wave on Saturday through Sunday. San Bernardino County officials are asking residents in and below the recent areas burned by wildfire to prepare for the possibility of flooding. Other low-lying areas near waterways may experience localized flooding.

Residents are advised to stay clear of flood control debris basins and channels.

More information on storm conditions is available at the San Diego National Weather Service Web site. There is also a limited amount of free sand and sandbags available at county fire stations.
