A bicycling would-be burglar was captured Friday after trying to evade deputies.

When San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies arrived at the site of the attempted burglary, on the 18500 block of Live Oak St, they allegedly found Julius Edwards, 28, and Jerome Julian, 21, crawling out of a bedroom window. Both men fled the scene.

Edwards was taken into custody by Deputy Greg Swoboda after a short foot chase. Julian, however, eluded the officers for a while.

As deputies cordoned off the area, Julian was allegedly seen riding a stolen bicycle in an escape attempt.

He later abandoned the bike and was chased by Deputy Tina Kirby through several back yards, before being taken into custody by Deputy Bill Holland.

Both suspects were booked at Victor Valley Jail and charged with first degree residential burglary and parole violations.
