The Hesperia Post Office is rolling out the red carpet this week as it hosts Customer Appreciation Week.

"We're trying to help the customers get to know the features we have," said Taren Woodward, a longtime Hesperia facility employee. "And we're going to have some goodies in the lobby."

Among the highlights:

On Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. a representative from the USPS district office in San Diego will provide information regarding the Postal Service's web site and other resources.
On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., customers will have the opportunity to say hello to Hesperia Postmaster Victor Maldonado during a "meet-and-greet." The postmaster will be available to answer questions or concerns.
Teaming up with online auction site eBay, the Postal Service will host eBay how-to seminar sessions from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday. During thee sessions, participants will learn basic information about buying and selling on eBay. They also will learn about convenient online shipping solutions like Click-N-Ship, which enables mailers to ship directly from their homes. For reservations, call 244-3897.
At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, tours of the Hesperia facility will be held. Participants will see where mail goes from when it is received to when it leaves Hesperia for other destinations.

"If you haven't seen it, it's actually very interesting," Woodward said.
