Is it just me or have you noticed that the lighted arrow board located on I Avenue near E Avenue, it still there after all this time? It's been there so long it's like a permanent fixture. What makes me wonder about its use is the location in the outer transition lane, painted arrows on the road surface and signing, to direct drivers to move Left as the lane ends ahead. The roadway at that location is for all intents and purposes, three lanes wide.

Apparently, the need for the lighted arrow board is due to a damaged safety railing behind the cement curbing. The extent of damage appears somewhat minor and has not yet been repaired.

I do not frequent I Avenue that often, but over the last couple of months, it seems to me that the lighted arrow board is taking root. So that leads to a few questions: When is the repair work to be completed? Who's in charge? Why does it take a lighted arrow board to notify drivers of this less that dramatic damage? Why are we renting the lighted arrow board for so long? Does someone have a relative working at Hertz Rental?

Many of us find the management of our city, state, and nation, worrisome. There surfaces from time to time examples of loose supervision and disregard of fiduciary responsibility, and this appears to be a local example of that disregard.
