Two separate trucks struck a pedestrian this morning on Amargosa Road. He died at the scene.

Witnesses report seeing the currently unidentified older Hispanic man walking northbound on Amargosa toward Main Street shortly before 6 a.m. He was reportedly struck by the side view mirror of a northbound Chevrolet Yukon pick-up truck, then struck again by a passing Ford F-150 pick-up.

The accident occured near the aquaduct, approximately 1,000 yards south of the Graco store, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Roxanne Walker.

The victim, who had no identification on him, died at the scene.Sheriff's Department officials believe the man's dark clothes -- blue pants and a blue and black shirt -- may have contributed to the accident, along with poor street lighting in the area.
