I recently attended the February 25th HUSD school board meeting and I was completely surprised and disgusted to see the posters that were on display by Charles Roedell. I understand that he is a teacher at Lime Street School in Hesperia. I am offended by his posters, especially the character of Hardy Black because it looks like he's supposed to be an African-American, which Mr. Black is not.

I think these posters show horrible judgment and are racist, to say the least. How am I supposed to explain these posters to my children? I'm glad that Mr. Mark McKinney had the gumption to say that he wanted the posters to be taken down and that they were offensive.

Isn't Charles Roedell employed by HUSD? What a shameful, disrespectful way to act to the HUSD board members and public. I expect better behavior and judgment of our Hesperia teachers, although I'm guessing and hoping that he doesn't have any followers.

I will be attending the next board meeting, and I hope that Mr. Roedell will have better judgment and keep his posters in the trash.
