An apartment fire displaced 27 residents early Tuesday morning.

Approximately 35 firefighters from multiple departments converged on the two-story apartment complex at 11927 1st Avenue at 5:21 a.m. The bedroom of a corner apartment was ablaze when firefighters arrived, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department spokeswoman Tracey Martinez.

The initial apartment was completely destroyed, two apartments sustained water and smoke damage and still more apartments received smoke damage, according to Martinez.

No residents were injured in the fire, although the American Red Cross was contacted to assist 27 residents displaced by the fire.

The county fire department and the arson investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department are investigating the cause of the incident. No damage estimate has been released at this time.
