If you live on the east side of Hesperia or if you live on the Mesa or use I Avenue or C Avenue everyday, the Ranchero underpass will create a new set of traffic problems when completed. Everybody with a vehicle living east of the tracks from Apple Valley. Spring Valley Lake and from Lucerne Valley will be driving through the south east Hesperia residential streets and neighborhoods to get to Ranchero.

When the public gets to speak out on this issue, please join me in proposing that Santa Fe East be made into a through street from Ranchero all the way to I Ave just south of Bear Valley Road. Without Santa Fe designated as the north south truck route to Bear Valley Road, our neighborhoods will become a 24 hour 7 days a week expressway.

Semi trucks will use our residential streets as the route of choice to get to and from the 15 freeway from everywhere east of the tracks. The City of Hesperia can do better for its citizens who live on the east side of town.

The 2 lane residential streets were not designed for Main Street or Bear Valley Road traffic volumes or for truck traffic. Santa Fe East as a through street is the answer but it must become a priority to the City of Hesperia.

Speak up at the public hearings if you agree that Ranchero traffic should not be dumped out into our neighborhoods and clog our streets with through traffic.
