A man suspect of being involved with an apartment complex fire on March 25 has turned himself into authorities.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department announced Monday that Jessie Shaw, 23, of Hesperia, has been arrested on a charge of Arson to an Inhabited Dwelling and booked into Victor Valley Jail on a $250,000 bail after turning himself into authorities on Sunday.

Shaw had reportedly learned that fire department arson investigators and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department detectives were looking for him as part of their investigation into the fire.

During questioning, Shaw allegedly told authorities that he had used charcoal lighter fluid to start a fire in his bedroom and then fled the scene without notifying anyone else in his apartment or in adjacent apartments.

Shaw's apartment suffered damage, and two other apartments sustained water and smoke damage. Damage to the eight-unit apartment complex is estimated at $200,000. No one was injured in the fire.
