With his usual hair-shaving offering seeming less hair-raising, Eucalyptus Elementary principal Craig Gunter last week went to new heights - literally -- as a reward for his students' successful "March to a Million."

But before he left the school to board a Cessna two-seater at Hesperia Airport, he fulfilled another promise for the students who logged 1,176,000 collective minutes in reading time.

Before a news photographer's camera could capture the memorable image, Gunter slipped into a wig and dress.

"It was kind of a Mrs. Doubtfire look," said Assistant Principal Mrs. Teri McCollum.
