For some Victor Valley residents a message of hope will fall from the heavens - literally.

Last Thursday afternoon summer school students attending Tri-City Christian Academy on Hesperia Road in Hesperia released numerous colorful, helium-filled balloons. But these weren't ordinary dirigibles filled with hot air. The inflated balloons came with messages:

"If you are reading this you have been blessed by a Tri-City Academy Angel," stated notes dangling on the end of a string.

The faith notes also included the first name of each student and Bible verse Matthew 19:14: "Jesus said, Let the little children come to me."

The students have done much more than send balloons afloat, however. Recently, they were treated to a tour of the International Banana Museum and the Old Town Hesperia Museum., which share a facility on Main Street. They also toured the Hesperia Senior Campus and came back with goodies from Vons Pavillion. They're planning a special a field trip to the Victor Valley College planetarium.

"We're doing a lot of educational things," said Jessica Condoluci, the academy's summer camp director. "There's so much to see here in Hesperia."
