Regarding "Gadfly runs for school board seat" (Hesperia Star, Aug. 12):  Mr. Yarbrough did do his homework.  He knows that the official definition of "Gadfly" is "A persistent, irritating critic," or "One that provokes or goads" (The American Heritage Dictionary).  Mr. Yarbrough also knows, however, that this word has a negative connotation to most people.  Is he going to use these kinds of words when writing about all the candidates, or just Mr. Bentley?  I really wish that we could have fair reporting and civil debate throughout the upcoming campaigns.
