The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has discovered what a representative says is a sophisticated marijuana farm in a Vine Street garage.

On Monday, September 22, Deputy Bela Lukacs from the Hesperia station arrived at a home on the 19200 block of Vine Street, following up on a WE-TIP report that homeowner Jon Dimperio, 57, was selling drugs out of the house.

Dimperio was home, and in the front yard when Lukacs arrived. The deputy reportedly smelled the scent of marijuana at that point, and entered the house, looking for the source.

In a room off the garage, Lukacs allegedly discovered an indoor marijuana farm with its own lighting system, climate controls and irrigation system, along with 30 marijuana plants.

Dimperio was arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail on a charge of cultivation of marijuana.

WE-TIP, (800) 782-7463, is an anonymous tip line that offers up to $1,000 rewards for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of a person involved in criminal activity.
