I was wondering the other night why the Hesperia Teachers Association (HTA) is trying to so hard to take over the school board over completely, with Anthony Riley, Chris Bentley and Chris Lindsay. Was it to try to get another raise? Well no, the state and the school district are out of money. Maybe teachers' rights? No, they have everything they need and then the light came on.

This year all the Hesperia School employees helped the budget problem by taking pay cuts, except the teachers, that decided not to take any pay cuts. By taking control of the school board, the teachers can protect their salaries and benefits over the next couple of years while the state goes through its extreme budget shortfall.

This election is not about getting good candidates on the school board, but protecting teacher compensation. Hesperia, we need board members that will protect our students, before teachers. This is why I ask you to please join me in supporting Eric Swanson and Bruce Henson for Hesperia School Board. These two candidates will put the students first and not sit back and protect the teachers' salaries.
