Last week Mark McKinney, Hesperia School District superintendent posted a "Budget Update" on the hesperia.org web site, stating that we were going through major budget cuts from the state.

Mark McKinney said, "our expenses for the year will exceed our revenues by $5.2 million. This means....break into our reserve monies to meet our normal financial obligations." Also Mark McKinney let us know, "Next year....$300 less per student. This will mean $5.8 million fewer dollars in revenue." That's $11 million dollars over the next two years.

The current school board has spent, spent, and spent again our students money and now Hesperia Unified School District is in major financial trouble.

They have thrown away money on pay off superintendent Hank Richardson over $300,000 and employee Lee Samuels (who help get Robert Kirk, Hardy Black, and Lee Rogers elected in 2006 and is also helping with the Teachers' Union with the 2008 election phone call banks) over $250,000. Each board meeting the current board finds some crazy program, that doesn't directly help the students to blow our district money.

This year the Teachers' Union, that is pushing for Anthony Riley (school board president, Robert Kirk's close friend) and Chris Lindsay (who is also be support by Mark and Robert Kirk) to get elected was ask to take a pay cut to help the school district's budget and the teachers said NO, while the rest of the district's employees help with pay cuts.

Hesperia, we cannot afford the Teachers' Union to get two more elected seats and must say NO to Anthony Riley and Chris Lindsay, before our school district has to file for state bankruptcy.
