I would like to extend a well deserved congratulations to our newly elected School Board members, Anthony Riley and Christopher Bentley. These are certainly tough economic times that will test all those who are serving on the School Board, those who willingly accepted the challenge deserve our respect and support.

I would also like to say thank you to all those who supported me in my attempt to win a seat on the HUSD Board of Trustees. As anyone who has run for an elected office can tell you, it has been an eye opening experience. I received 5869 votes and I believe half of those who voted for me have called or stopped by to tell me they voted for me and offer their sympathies on my loss. To them, I apologies for not doing more to get elected. I want to extend special thanks the parents and scouts of Pack 152 and Troop 725, this was a great lesson in civic duty and leadership.

Perhaps the most rewarding part of the campaigning process was meeting people in the community. In addition to meeting five other candidates who felt compelled to serve our community, I had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of parents, teachers and local business owners. While many had specific suggestions and concerns, I found that most asked me to do one thing "...listen to all sides then do the right thing". I would like to congratulate Christopher Bentley and Anthony Riley on their election to HUSD Board of Trustees and Mike Leonard and Paul Bosacki on their election to Hesperia City Council and I ask that they and the other board/council members "listen to all sides then do the right thing".
