Ho, ho, ho!

It's that time of year again. The elves and I have been busy getting ready for Christmas Eve. On my computer, I have a spreadsheet program where I have a list of all the children in the world, sorted into "naughty" or "nice." It's a lot of work, but I don't mind.

What the elves and I really enjoy this time of year is reading e-mails from children about the presents they hope to receive. Once again this year, Hesperia children can write me at santaclaus@hesperiastar.com. It doesn't matter if you're naughty or nice -- but time is running out to get on the "nice" list!

Santa isn't always able to grant every Christmas wish, as much as he might want to, but the elves always do their best. And we always love hearing from you!

I look forward to seeing a lot of you at the Hesperia Christmas Tree lighting this year on Thursday, December 4. It is at a new place this year, Hesperia Civic Plaza Park, 15833 Smoke Tree Street, behind city hall and the library. The fun starts at 4:30, and I will be arriving a little bit after that.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, whichever ones you celebrate!

Santa Claus can be reached at santaclaus@hesperiastar.com.

The Hesperia Star staff will be randomly choosing letters from High Desert children and giving their families gift certificates. To be eligible, please include a 760 area code phone number so that newspaper staff can contact the winners. (Phone numbers will not be published in the newspaper.)

The deadline for e-mails to Santa is December 14 and e-mails to Santa will appear in the December 23 edition of the newspaper.
