Twenty-eight people were arrested or cited at a sheriff's department traffic checkpoint.


San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies from the Hesperia station operated an eight-hour checkpoint at Hesperia Road near Sycamore Avenue, attempting to find drivers under the influence of alcohol and unlicensed drivers.


They allegedly found some: Deputies arrested five drivers for being under the influence, 15 citations were issued for vehicle violations and eight people were arrested for outstanding warrants, public intoxication or parole violations.


The deputies also towed nine vehicles due to drivers operating the vehicle without a license or while under the influence.
