A pair of bicyclists have been arrested and charged with burglary.

On Tuesday, January 13, a man living in a residence o the 7600 block of Corona Avenue came home at approximately 1:34 p.m. to find his home being ransacked and a white male reportedly attempting to open a safe with a sharpened stake.

The resident ordered the suspect out of the house and the suspect took off on a bicycle waiting outside, catching up to another suspect who had already fled the scene on a bicycle.

Later that same day, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputy Chad Gomez spotted two bicyclists matching the description of the burglars. Gomez arrested Trevor Bass, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile male, on charges of residential burglary. The juvenile was allegedly in possession of a $700 bicycle reported stolen earlier that day from Kingston Elementary School -- he was reportedly being confronted by the bicycle's owner when the deputies arrived, according to the burglary victim.

Bass was booked into Victor Valley Jail on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property. The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall on the same charges.
