An alleged would-be burglar picked the wrong house to try and break into Thursday evening.

Juan M Reyna, 25, of Hesperia, was arrested on January 22 after he allegedly tried to break into a residence on the 19000 block of Yucca Street.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies were summoned to the location because while Reyna was allegedly trying to break into the house, the resident was home inside.

The resident told sheriff's dispatch that he was keeping a gun trained on the would-be intruder as Reyna allegedly moved around the house, rattling the doorknobs to the various doors in the house. The resident told dispatch that if the intruder made it inside, he would shoot him. He put the gun down after sheriff's deputies arrived and identified themselves to him.

Reyna was allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time deputies arrives, and was found to be a known gang member on parole. He was arrested on charges of attempted burglary and parole violations and booked at Victor Valley Jail.
