The Hesperia Chamber of Commerce has numerous services and programs to assist its members, but next week the Chamber will call on its most important resource - the local businesses on Main Street and beyond.

The Chamber's "Town Hall for Business Owners" will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 in the chapel of Hesperia Christian School. The event is free and open to businesses in Hesperia and other local communities.

"We're trying to figure out just what small businesses need right now," said board member Debbie Cannon of High Desert Resource Network.

"We want to hear from them," added chamber Executive Director Yvonne Woytovich, "so we can see how we can help them."

According to Woytovich and Cannon, the event will be an open and frank discussion of current issues and trends affecting businesses today. The organization also hopes to learn how to more effectively encourage consumers to shop locally.

"Hopefully we can get some practical information," Woytovich said.

The Hesperia Christian School chapel is located at the corner of C Avenue and Olive Street in Hesperia.
