As our school district scrambles to find ways to save the jobs of nearly 180 teachers, the union is continuing to play political games.

In spite of a formal request by HTA teachers to the union board for action, the union leadership continues to march to it's own tune, ignoring their constituents.  This is not only harmful to teachers, but also harmful to our students.  If teachers are not hired back, classrooms will overflow next year.

Our community will see more families leave or experience foreclosures. Businesses will lose core customers.  This is completely unacceptable.  So what is the union doing about this?  They are considering a number of options including saving a  few jobs by moving to a four-day school week.  Is this option right for your family?

Right now the HTA is taking nominations for positions on the board.  Take action if you believe that this is not the way your union should behave.
