Writing on the backpack may have been one graffiti tag too many.

On Monday, May 11, shortly before midnight, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Marzalek stopped two teenage males near the intersection of First Avenue and Sequoia Street.

While he had them stopped, Marzalek noticed one of the pair had a backpack with "420K" written on it -- a tag that appeared in the neighborhood written on various structures. Inside the backpack were markers and both teens had marker ink on their hands. Additional investigation linked the boys to the tags "DAF" and "TIP" as well.

Both teenagers were booked at Apple Valley Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center for affixing graffiti over $5,000 in damages.
