As most of you already know, within a relatively short period of time, the Obama administration along with the Congress has taken control of most of the major banking institutions, General Motors and more recently the tobacco industry. Unfortunately, what lays ahead in the President's bid to completely transform our long established form of "government by the people" into a socialist state, is his plan to nationalize our health care system. If the President is allowed to continue on in his march to eradicate our liberties by flagrantly violating the rules of law held with our Constitution, I firmly believe that the individual freedoms that all Americans enjoy today may be forever altered.
As I look to the Congress and the White House, I too am thoroughly fed up with both of the major political parties. On one hand, in their goal to be accepted by everyone, the leading membership within the Republican Party seems content to wander aimlessly about in a desperate attempt to redefine themselves as to who they are and what they really stand for. Sadly, because of their indecisiveness and unwillingness to defend the Constitution, most all Republicans in Congress seem content to continue on their uncharted path by passively slogging their way through the same old game of "politics as usual." On the other hand, while the rudderless GOP gropes for it's political footing, at every opportunity, a prideful and arrogant Democrat Party, stands firm on it's brazen quest to trample upon the integrity of the Constitution.
As I see it, while the Democrat Party's actions continually portray disrespect towards the Constitution, the Republican Party, despite it's traditional conservative rhetoric, now appears committed to cowardly tip toe around it's authority as if walking through a pasture fenced in by political correctness and seasoned throughout by copious mounds of political "bull paddies." Through a continued fear of "guilt by association," with this precious document and by neglecting to stand firm on other strongly held traditionally conservative values, the Republican Party has indisputably fractured their conservative base. Feeling abandoned and forsaken, in the eyes of many bewildered conservatives they now see themselves as little more that "extra baggage" being cast aside by their once favored political party which no longer chooses to give voice to their core values.
Unfortunately, it continues to become more strikingly obvious to many Americans, that the primary commitment within the majority of both political parties is to continually entrench themselves even deeper into political power. Sadly, these elected officials have found it both politically justifiable and convenient to neglect the oaths that they all once took to defend the Constitution. Despite which political party you may be aligned with, like many of you, I cannot find one Democrat or Republican who is truly willing to bravely stand and defend the Constitution and the traditional values that have always made this country great. Consequently, many disconcerted Americans who love their country, now live with the foreboding that sometime soon, they may actually find themselves having to scramble for ways to actually defend their individual freedoms and valued traditions. As I continue to look upon both the Democrat Party and the Republican Party today, I see very little difference between the two of them, as they both appear to have given into out of control spending, massive government control and a concerted effort to ignore the wishes of most Americans, who are just fed up with the behavior of both the Congress and the White House. Democrats and Republicans alike, continue to selfishly act out as if to only to benefit themselves, while emboldened by access to unbridled power and aided by a never ending stream of taxpayer dollars in which they feel obligated to squander, whenever and however the mood strikes them.
As I talk to many of my friends and neighbors of either party, I sense a sincere anxiety within many of them, as they tell me of their concern, that the way that our country is headed, is not the American way and that they're not sure as to what and where all of this "hope and change," is leading us into as a country. Consequently, many Americans who have become disillusioned by our elected pompous and power hungry politicians are now taking steps through the likes of "tea parties," to stand up and fight for what they think is right for their country. Despite their frustrations, they remain committed in their search for someone in leadership, from any political leaning, who'll stand up for what's right for America based upon a commitment to follow the governing principals established within the Constitution.
During the past few years, there has been a great deal of study directed towards our founding fathers and what motivated them to put forth such astonishing and treasured documents as the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. While it's been well documented and agreed upon by most historians that most of these brave leaders believed in God, the one thing that is seldom mentioned about them, is that despite all of their humanist short comings, they still maintained within themselves an unbending trust and faith in their creator. I strongly believe that it was by their unwavering faith in God that led them to bravely step forward to forge these precious documents and through their decrees of freedom, the greatness of America was born.
We are a free people, but because we've been brought up and nurtured within a society that's always been able to freely exercise it's freedoms and liberties, it's almost impossible for most Americans to justly measure the freedom in which they live. I believe that the soul of America is found in it's freedom and that within the near future, all Americans will clearly find both freedom's meaning and it's measure through a struggle against the evils of greed and tyranny.
The love of freedom is much like the inspiration found in American patriotism. While it seemingly slumbers beneath the shadows of the every day lives of most Americans, it actually trembles within each and every one of us and with it's slightest nudge, awakens us to even the smallest threat to our creators gift of freedom.
As in the past, there will continue to be enemies who foolishly underestimate the power of our God given freedom. But, the strenghth of this gift will always triumph over mankinds greedy ambitions, for while it's within mankind's folly to only wink at a relationship with God, the power of faith held by most Americans lays in the hands of our creator, the author and giver of our freedom, who will always uphold His intended gift for all of mankind to earnestly seek, cherish and defend it.
