The Hesperia Police Department will be hosting a Citizens on Patrol Academy beginning October 5.  They are looking for prospective volunteers.


If you live in the High Desert and are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact the police department nearest you. 


Volunteers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department provide support to law enforcement personnel in a variety of functions.  This program is highly supported by Sheriff Rodney Hoops and city officials.


Volunteering your time is a great way to become involved in your community and it does make a difference.

The academy dates are: Monday, October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, October 10, 17, 24 and 31.


Training will cover CPR, first aid, defensive driving, radio communication, crime prevention, fingerprinting and more.


Applications are available at all of the above locations and must be turned in by Thursday, August 20.
