Authorities are searching for a would-be kidnapper who allegedly attempted to pull a woman off the street into his vehicle.

On Saturday, August 15, shortly before 11:30 p.m., deputies were called to the vicinity of Bear Valley Road and Cottonwood Avenue.

The victim told deputies that as she was walking home, she passed a vehicle parked on the street. The driver reportedly said something to her in Spanish. She ignored his comment and kept on walking.

The motorist then got out of his vehicle and grabbed her from behind, attempting to pull her into his car. She fought back and was able to fight him off, her shirt tearing as she got away, and then called 911.

The sheriff's department describes the suspect as a heavy-set Hispanic male adult with a thick mustache and wearing a faded blue trucker's cap and a flannel shirt. He is described as driving an older-model faded orange hatchback car.
