Summer is over, but the Hesperia Civic Market & Street Faire intends to have one last party.

On Wednesday, September 9, the market -- which normally features a disc jockey playing music -- will hold a "Music at the Market" concert.

"This was to wrap up summer," said city spokeswoman Kelly Malloy. "This was a perfect opportunity while the weather was still warm ... to come and have fun in the park."

The first two hours of Wednesday's market will go on as normal, but at 5 p.m., classic rock cover band The Beatless will take the stage through closing time at 8 p.m.

"They're actually the same band that were at the [city's] 20th anniversary [party in June 2008]," said Malloy. "We got really positive feedback from the community, so we've invited them back to finish off the summer."

The concert is sponsored by Southern California Edison, the Matich Corporation and
Y-102/Kat Country. Admission is free.
