Two men who allegedly beat their elderly mother into unconsciousness have been charged with murder, following her death.

On Oct. 18, a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputy discovered Mary Hussey, 74, unconscious on the floor of her bedroom, with major trauma to her head, neck and shoulders. He had been dispatched after Hussey had not been answering her phone.

Investigation revealed she had been in the care of two of her adult sons and that they had left her home on the 16300 block of Cashew Street on Friday.

Brothers William, 51, and Alan, 50, Hussey were arrested at a Baker AM/PM when a deputy there heard the pair's descriptions broadcast. The Hussey brothers were allegedly on their way to a relative's house in Pahrump, Nevada, at the time of the arrest and allegedly had their mother's stolen credit cards with them at the time.

On Sunday, Oct. 25, Hussey died at Arrowhead Medical Center from injuries sustained in the assault. William and Alan, both of Hesperia, were charged with murder and remain at Victor Valley Detention Center without bail.
