An in-traffic dispute between a couple ended in a car crash.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a crash near the intersection of Topaz Avenue and Main Street. There they found an abandoned vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant. Witnesses directed the deputies to the vehicle's two former occupants.

The victim told deputies she and the male driver were arguing as he drove, and that he grabbed her by the hair and shoved her face into his lap. She then grabbed the steering wheel, and the car crashed into a tree and then the fire hydrant, the airbags deploying as a result.

The victim sustained bruising to her chest, hip and cut her lip.

Charles Parks, 44, of Hesperia, was arrested for spousal abuse and booked at Victor Valley Jail.
