Who gets the cars likely won't be an issue for Julia Chicas and her husband.

According to authorities, Thursday evening, Hesperia resident Chicas, 42, discovered her husband and another woman in the parking lot of an Apple Valley motel. She confronted them, but they left the parking lot in a sports utility vehicle. Chicas gave chase in her van.

A witness on Interstate 15 called the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at 6:44 p.m.: Chicas was reportedly ramming her van into the SUV as they made their way south down the freeway, toward Hesperia.

As the vehicles approached the Main Street off-ramp, the SUV briefly became disabled. Chicas made a U-turn, driving into oncoming traffic, to ram the van once more. But the van was restarted again, and continued on, despite a shredded right front tire and riding on the rim of the right rear tire.

The motorized marital dispute continued east onto Main Street. Deputies spotted the ramming attacks continuing near the intersection of Main Street and Cataba Road.

Deputy Kevin McCurdy arrested Chicas for assault with a deadly weapon and she was booked into Victor Valley Jail.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the incident.
