In the Web version of a story published in the February 16, 2010, issue of the Hesperia Star, "Teachers union challenges school board to cut their own pay, benefits," school board president Hardy Black was quoted as saying that board members previously got a 5 percent annual increase in health and welfare benefits and in their cash stipend. Only the board's stipend historically has had an automatic increase.

The Hesperia Star regrets the error.
