The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's aviation unit was called in Sunday after a Bangor Street woman barricaded herself inside her home and allegedly threatened to burn it down inside.

Shortly before 3:30 on March 28, deputies from the Hesperia station reported to the 17500 block of Bangor Street after a man called the station from out of state, indicating that his 64-year-old mother had told him that she was going to burn down her house with her inside, and that she had weapons inside with her.

Deputies surrounded the house and called in a helicopter. The helicopter's crew was able to convince her to leave out of the house without incident.

Inside the home, deputies located a loaded .22 handgun, and three shotguns, including a loaded .30-.30, all of which were taken for safekeeping.

The woman was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
