Summit Leadership Academy held its annual Career Day on March 19.


Students go an up-close-and-personal view of potential careers, mostly in law enforcement, fire science, paramedic and other similar fields.


Some of the participants at the event were Officer Anderson of the Rialto Police Department SWAT & K-9. Acting as the "agitator" during a spirited K9 demonstration was Officer Burn of the Fontana Police Department. Officer Burn is law enforcement instructor at Summit. Other demonstrations featured Officer Cichella of the California Highway Patrol and his K-9, Hero, with Officer Osegueda as the agitator.


Demonstrating extrication equipment was San Bernardino County Fire Station 301's Captain Herrera, Engineer Villarino, Firefighter Scmitz, Firefighter-Paramedic McLaughlin and Firefighter-Paramedic Sonders.


Tony Diaz represented the San Bernardino County Phelan Sheriffs Volunteer Equestrian unit.


The Rialto Police Department Crisis and Negotiations Unit demonstrated featuring Corp. Daniels and Officer Dobbs.


Numerous others participated in the event.
