California High Patrol officers last Thursday arrested an Apple Valley man on suspicion of using a BB or pellet gun to shoot out the rear windows of more than 70 vehicles on area freeways.

CHP officers arrested William Frye, 40, of Apple Valley. Some news outlets previously stated Frye was from Hesperia, but booking information indicated he was a resident of Apple Valley.

Frye, a satellite television installer, shot out windows along interstates 10, 15 and 215 and highways 91 and 60, according to a news report.

An investigation continues, and CHP officials are asking anyone with information on the case to contact the CHP's inland office at (909) 388-8000.
