It's not every day that someone walks into the Star office with a dragon head.
That's just what Gregory Pena, owner of Iron Monger, did.
While completing paperwork to publish his fictitious business name, Pena shared about his ornamental iron welding business. A woman in Spring Valley Lake had commissioned a dragon head for her son, and the head was almost completed. After a few days of crafting, only a few unfinished details remained.
Welding is not new to Pena. He has been welding for more than 22 years. Almost 13 years ago he started doing ornamental iron welding.
"I would go out to a costumer and give them a bid on an iron fence. They'd ask me what else I can do." Pena added, "I like doing the old stuff like shields and swords."
Besides iron work, Pena likes to do different crafts – painting landscape and seascapes, and dabbling in word carving.
