Maple Elementary's fourth annual Spring Fever (formerly called the Spring Fling) did just what it was designed to do and more.

"It's one of our big events that brings the teachers, students, family and community together," said principal Karen Elgan. "This year we expanded with more attractions and booths."

And that meant more people having fun, eating carnival-style food (with many healthy choices this year), and enjoy a variety of games, vendor booths and entertainment.

"This is just one of our great family events," said Kim Smith of the school's Parent Teacher Club, which organized the event. "It brings everyone together."

Featured performers were the Maple Elementary Drama Club, the Hesperia High School Jazz Band, the Maple Elementary Dancers, and the Hesperia High Drumline and Pageantry.

Representatives from the Hesperia Animal Control brought irresistible puppies looking for good homes and wild animal displays. Maple Elementary shirts, hats and more were on sale, and large, colorfully-wrapped raffle prizes got the attention of many.

"The parents, staff, kids and community once a year are having a great time," Elgan said.
