On May 11 Oak Hills High School held its inaugural Senior Awards Night. I had the pleasure of putting on these awards night from 1996 to 2009 at Hesperia High School, so I know it takes a wonderful group of individuals to put on a successful night.
To my administration — Larry Porras, Michael Capps, Stan Clark, Shawn Yancey, Matt Johnson and Darren Goodman – the A Team — the best.
To my counseling family — LaRae Harguess, Evelia Dang, Terri Williams, Renee Browning, Dave Boberg, Paulette Halter and Julie Hernandez — thanks for always supporting me.
To those volunteers who helped me for the night — Amber Freeman, Theresa Santos and Tammy Aguilera — friends when I needed friends.
To my Bulldog Honor Guard — student volunteers, Desiree Pena, Gage Santos, Miranda Mobley, Dolphina Rios and Teague LaBrosse, who I fully expect to see on stage during their senior year.
To all the organizations who donated time, awards and scholarships — we are truly a great community.
And to my seniors from the first ever graduating Class of 2011 at OHHS — we laughed, cried and I pushed you because someone in my high school way back said you can't and I always believed YOU could. May you blessed with the friends like I have listed above and a future you truly love. For me, to quote an old military friend, it's not just a job, it's an adventure.
Thank you all for letting me ride along.
