Oak Hills High School's 2010-2011 yearbook has received national attention.

"The book has been inducted into the Walsworth Publishing Company's Gallery of Excellence and within those books, the yearbook competed against 10 other schools nationally of the same caliber," said yearbook advisor Devon Sherrodd. "Oak Hills received first out of 10, which is a pretty big deal. There is a very small percentage of books selected for the honor of the Gallery of Excellence, much less first place."

The news and the accompanying plaque of recognition arrived after the end of the school year.

"We spent the year creating a book that memorializes the successes of the students at our school and their yearbook was a success, but no one is around to know, much less celebrate."

The book was already a success on campus: This year's yearbook sold out, Sherrodd said.
