The Hesperia Elks will host a Hawaiian Luau on Saturday, July 30 at the Elks Lodge. The event is open to the public.

Cocktails begin at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6. The show will start around 7:30.

The event will feature Thealani's Polynesian dancers including fire dancers, hula dancers and Hawaiian music and island-style buffet dinner.

The luau is the first in about eight years, according to event chair Marilyn Cranford.

"I wanted to do this because it will be a great event for everyone," she said. "It's really a beautiful, beautiful show."

Proceeds go toward the several Elks charities including "The Purple Pig Project," which assists children with disabilities, and the Elks National Foundation Scholarships.

Cranford thanked her committee members for organizing the event. Committee members include Karen Allen, Pat Cajas, Maggie Campbell and Sandra Mahaffey.

"It's going to be a very wonderful affair," Cranford said.

Cost is $25 per person. The Hesperia Elks Lodge is located at 9202 E. Ave., Hesperia. For more ticket information, call Marilyn Cranford at (760) 948-7769.
