HESPERIA • An early-morning fight ended with one person stabbed and another behind bars for attempted murder, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station officials said Wednesday.
Bobby Villanueva, 45, of Hesperia was arrested for attempted murder when he allegedly stabbed a man after the two became involved in a fight Tuesday morning, Roxanne Walker, spokeswoman for the Hesperia station, said.
Deputies were called out to the 9900 block of Topaz Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. for a fight, Walker said. When they arrived, they found the victim had been stabbed by Villanueva. Rescuers transported the victim to an area trauma center. His condition is currently unknown, Walker stated.
Villanueva also sustained some injuries in the altercation and was taken to a local hospital, Walker said. He was arrested after being discharged.
It's unclear what sparked the fight between the two men or if anyone else was involved in the incident, Walker said.
Villanueva is being held on $1 million bail at West Valley Detention Center.
According to court records, Villanueva was arrested last May for assault with a deadly weapon. He pleaded no contest in that case.
The fight took place at the same apartment complex where Hesperia teen Brandon Nadler was shot and killed earlier this year while visiting a friend.
