HESPERIA • A Hesperia woman lost her pets in a fire that nearly destroyed her home Friday morning, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station officials.
The fire was reported at about 9:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the home on Juniper Street near Choiceana Street, heavy smoke was visible. They attacked the fire, cutting ventilation holes in the roof and dousing the flames inside the home, officials said.
It was unclear how many animals perished in the blaze.
One witness reported the interior of the home was completely damaged.
The woman in the home reported she had just left the house to run some errands shortly before the blaze broke out, sheriff's officials said.
The cause of the fire was unknown Friday.
