APPLE VALLEY 19, SULTANA 16: Head coach Frank Pulice called his Apple Valley football team the cardiac kids after Friday night's game, and for good reason. The Sun Devils drove 81 yards to score the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard pass from Ben Quiroz to Tyler Baskett. Then senior Kennedy Smith blocked a field goal attempt to give Apple Valley a 19-16 win against Sultana which clinched a Mojave River League playoff berth.

HESPERIA 20, OAK HILLS 42: Two years into Oak Hills' tenure in the Mojave River League, the Bulldogs have started a few trends. First, beating up on their crosstown brethren. The Bulldogs beat Hesperia 42-20 Friday night in a game that was never in question after Oak Hills scored twice in the first

10 plays from scrimmage. The other trend Oak Hills has begun is setting up battles for second place in the MRL with Apple Valley.
