HESPERIA An estimated $100,000 in equipment including a company van was stolen from a Hesperia business over the weekend, and authorities are looking for suspects.

Early Saturday morning, a worker showed up to Apex Hesperia Rentals on C Avenue and saw the locks had been cut off the perimeter gate and equipment had been taken from the property.

Thieves stole a white 1992 Ford Van with the words "Apex Rentals" and the company's contact information on the vehicle's sides, according to a report from officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station. Also missing were numerous chain saws, generators, jack hammers, pressure washers, roto hammers, welders, pool pumps, trash pumps and other rental equipment.

All of the stolen property is serialized and engraved with identifiable markings, authorities said.

The theft took place sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday night and when Hesperia deputies got there around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Hesperia sheriff's station at (760) 947-1500 or stay anonymous by calling WeTip at (800) 782-7463.

Apex Rentals has been doing business in the High Desert for 23 years, according to the company's website. In 2001, Apex merged with Hesperia Rentals, which has a 30-year history in the area.

An employee at the C Avenue business declined to discuss the theft.
